Colors, Prints, and other Ways to Attract Good Fortune in 2014

The run-up to the coming Year of the Wood Horse starts with London-based international feng shui expert Marites Allen conducting her much-awaited Annual Feng Shui Updates in Metro Manila. It will be held at the Infinity Ballroom of the F1 Hotel Manila at BGC, Global City on December 7, 2013.

Co-hosted by Marites and Boy Abunda, this exclusive event is the largest gathering of its kind in the Philippines, bringing together feng shui aficionados from all over the country and neighboring Asian cities.  It includes comprehensive feng shui forecasts for the Chinese New Year, and how feng shui can benefit businesses, industries, and individual lives during the year.  The Year of the Wooden Horse will start on January 31, 2014.

The practice of feng shui, the Chinese art of placement, goes back hundreds of years and has grown in popularity throughout Asia and the West. Traditionally, it harmonizes the directions and the correct positioning of spaces to conform to the principles of auspiciousness and good fortune. Basic to the practice is the influence of the five cosmic elements—Wood, Earth, Fire, Metal, and Water—to every human activity and aspiration.

The prints in this model’s skinny jeans are combination of different symbols which attracts good health.
While the prints of this this wrap-around dress is for attracting love and successful marriage
Of course for those who want to attract wealth, here’s mystic knot printed dress.

Last but not the least is the design for the Year of the Horse, where prints like a running horse, a golden rhino and auspicious coins are combined.
According to Maritess, each item “carries a distinctive fashion DNA", making Frigga the first of its kind.
Since it serves a fashion statement and a lucky charm, “call it fashion for a reason, or fashion with a purpose that goes beyond looking good,” she said.
Frigga’s design team, which is composed by Toby Meadows, Alice Shreeve, Hannah Coniam and Rupert Shreeve, worked on each design for at least three months.
Aside from her annual fesng shui updates for year 2014, a teaser of the Frigga 2014 collection will be viewed this Dec. 7 at the F1 Hotel Manila in Bonifacio Global City.

2014 is the Year of the Wood Horse

With three months left in the Year of the Water Snake, feng shui aficionados all over the world, whether Chinese or non-Chinese, are raring to learn what experts have to say about the favorable and unfavorableforecasts for the comingChinese New Year. Unlike the Gregorian calendar, the Chinese calendar is based on lunar cycles, and the Year of the Wood Horse starts on January 31, 2014.

10 kinds of Jikkan (Heavenly Stem) are made from a combination of Yin-Yang and the Five Elements.
 Four Pillars Chart

Two popular schools of feng shui—the Four Pillars Chart and the Flying Stars Chart—come into full play in ‘reading’ how the five natural feng shui energies will affect a wide range of human activities including business, industry, government, career, and other personal pursuits. “The shifting positions of these unseen energies, namely Fire, Water, Earth, Wood and Metal, have positive or negative indications for everyone.

Flying Stars Chart
Thus, it is important for all of us to learn about these annual changes to derive the most benefits from the positive energies and to deflect the negative ones. We need to update our feng shui,” says Marites Allen, a London-based international feng shui expert. Marites is scheduled to conduct her Annual Feng Shui Updates on December 7, 2013 at F1 Hotel Manila, BGC, Taguig City.

Hosted by Marites and Boy Abunda, this annual convention is the largest feng shui event in the country. In the last two years, it has expanded its reach and has also been held in London, Scandinavia, Tokyo and the US. Paris is also added to the itinerary this year in response primarily to the growing clamor from Filipinos based in Europe.
In a recent media briefing, Marites gave an interesting preview of what the 2014 Annual Feng Shui Updates will cover. The 2014 Flying Stars Chartshows that the Northwest andSoutheast sectors have the Misfortune Star and the Argumentative Star, respectively.“The front and back directions of Malacañang Palace, the seat of the Philippine governmentare located in these sectors, and this infers some challenging prospects for the country” foresees Marites. Unknown to many, feng shui readings do not only cover individuals but also collective groups. Thus it also has indications for the economic or political developments in a specific country or government.

The December 7th event will have important forecasts—from the general outlook for different businesses and industries to specific readings for each of the twelve animal signs of the Chinese zodiac. Along with the readings, recommendations regarding feng shui solutions for the year will be given.
“Participants will then be armed with the necessary tools to make use of the opportunities to better face the challenges brought about during the Year of the Wood Horse,” says Marites.
Tickets for the December convention are now available at all World of Feng Shui Philippines boutiques in Metro Manila or at F1 Hotel. Beauty Problem Fixes

Some women are just born perfect. They have flawless skin, toned, sexy body, and silky, long, luscious hair, while some just don’t have it all. If you belong to the first group, you are blessed. You are one of those women we get so jealous of because you just look absolutely perfect anytime of the day.

But for those who belong to the second group, fret not! You are not alone. Even seemingly perfect celebrities have flaws they just know how to correct them.

Here are seven common beauty problems and how to fix them:

1.      Dry skin. As we grow older, our skin gradually grows thinner and produces less natural oil. Experts say these factors contribute to the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Dry skin is caused by changes of weather, steamy showers, moisture-robbing soaps, too much scrubbing, aging, irritants, or skin conditions.

The fix:Beauty experts recommend patients to see a doctor for a medical advice. But if you think it’s a simple drying of the skin, try drinking lots of water – all day, every day. Try to look for cleansers and other skincare products (toners, exfoliators, etc.) with moisturizing ingredients that will not dry the skin like Derma Celesty Series of Shinagawa Lasik & Aesthetics. It is developed by leading Japanese dermatologists to rejuvenate the skin. Jewelry gel, cleansing foam, and exfoliating gel contain hydrolyzed fiber. W-BTX essence makes your skin silky and ageless by reducing wrinkles instantly.

2.      Body odor. It is an unpleasant smell in our bodies caused by bacteria that live on the skin break down sweat into acids. It becomes evident when a human reaches puberty at 14-16 years of age in females and 15-17 in males. People who are obese, those who regularly eat spicy foods, as well as individuals with certain medical conditions such as diabetes, are more susceptible to having body odor.

The fix:Proper hygiene and diet, and the use of dermatologically tested beauty products can eliminate body odor. Celesty Flora’s deodorant body scrub contains Tannin of Persimmon fruit extracts that fights unpleasant body odor while making your skin soft, radiant, and delicately scented with an uplifting citrus fragrance. It’ll make you smell good and feel good!

3.      Excess weight. This is often associated with obesity and cholesterol. Too much body fats can often lead to other health issues such as breathing difficulties, arthritis, and heart disease.

The fix:  Nothing beats regular exercise and a sensible diet plan. But some women have slow metabolism that they tend to have a hard time losing weight. Fit ‘n Slim contains L-Carnitin to speed up metabolism and a delicious diet coffee which is very popular among women of all ages. You can also try Musevital supplements for those who are eager to

Move on From Scars with Contractubex

contractubex
There are life experiences that leave marks or scars on our skin. Those who had an active and adventurous childhood probably have scars on their knees and elbows from scrapes while playing. The boys may get away with an interesting or macho story behind their scars, but this isn’t the case when it comes to girls. Having a scar can affect the way women dress up or carry themselves, and even result to loss of confidence or esteem. I was glad to be part of The “Move On Club” event of  Contractubex ointment once again.
The truth is, no one is spared from getting scarred. No matter how poised we are, life throws us instances that make us fall and slip – even while in our sturdiest stilettos! The scars we earn from these experiences become constant reminders of past mistakes, or things to avoid. Yet in spite of the lesson behind it, a scar is a scar – a blemish, a flaw, an imperfection. contractubex1
(L-R) Dr. Librojo, Maricar Reyes, Belle Gascon and Janice Lagman[

Dr. Librojo clearly explained the different types of scar:

They are the following:

  1. Raised or hypertrophic scar – confined to the area of the original skin injury; forms after the healing of the wound and is caused by overproduction of connective tissue fibers; tends to bulge and protrude above level of surrounding skin.
  2. Keloid – Also results from overproduction of connective tissue fibers and tend to bulge above the level of the surrounding skin beyond the original wound edges

Don’t let any scar keep you from hiding under your umbrella. Turn your rainy days into the best days of your life! Let the rain showers erase the past and open your heart to better, brighter days. Now you can, with Contractubex! Contractubex is a clinically proven treatment that combines the triple action of Cepae Extract, Heparin and Allantoin to help reduce the appearance of these unsightly marks on your skin.

You may notice that there are several other scar treatments available in the market today. What makes Contractubex different from other silicone-based scar treatments is that its ingredients help reduce inflammation and prevent excessive scar formation. Its water-soluble ointment base allows active ingredients to penetrate into deeper layers of the skin.

Meet the women who have tried Contractubex, and be inspired by their triumph over scars. These women shared their stories on facing life , having scars and moving on.
joy mendiola
Joy Mendiola was happily married at the age of 26. When she was a little girl, she got bitten by a dog. The experience was very traumatic as she would describe the attack -  “The dog ran as fast as it could towards her and bit her small face; reaping her chin, her upper lip, her right temple, her right cheek and her chest.” This impacted her physical and psychological well-being. After several years of succumbing to her fears and insecurities, she finally found the strength to move on. A long-lasting love motivated her to seek options to improve her scars. She underwent a procedure and was advised by the doctor to use Contractubex. A year later the operation, she got married and now has 3 lovely kids. Thanks to Contractubex, she is scar-free and happy. She has now moved on!
rica madrid
Rica Madrid is a pre-cancer survivor. She had to go through a surgery to remove the cyst and myoma on her right ovary. She braved the process of healing and coping with her battle scars. For years, she has tried and tested products that will somehow help to lighten her scar. Some remedies made it worse, some she has been allergic to, some were itchy, some made it even darker. She tried almost everything and even considered a laser procedure but it was not practical for her. Until she found out about Contractubex and this made her all her worries and insecurities go away. She survived and moved on!
 vance madrid
Vance Madrid is a freelance writer, pastry chef, seasoned traveler and food aficionado. She is also a full-time mom to her kids. Her son Kyle is diagnosed with ADHD so she made sure to give him the extra attention, care and love that he needs. Three years ago, Kyle got into an accident that almost took his life. He got bruises, cuts, scrapes and avulsed wounds. It’s heartbreaking for a mother to see her child suffer so much pain. Vance and the doctors were very involved in the healing process given the gravity of the incident. Contractubex was recommended by the doctor to help Kyle with his scars. Now, both Vance and Kyle are healed from the pain. Thanks to Contractubex they have moved on and continue to enjoy life!
