Attract Luck this 2014 with the Right Color and Fashion

The run-up to the coming Year of the Wood Horse starts on December 7, 2013 with London-based international expert Marites Allen to conduct her much-awaited Annual Feng Shui Updates in Manila. It will be held at the Infinity Ballroom of the F1 Hotel Manila at BGC, Global City.

The event is the largest gathering of its kind in the Philippines that brings together Feng Shui enthusiasts from all over the country and neighboring Asian cities to learn about forecasts for the Chinese New Year and their impact on businesses, industries, and individual lives.  The Year of the Wooden Horse will start on January 31, 2014.

The practice of Feng Shui, the Chinese art of placement, goes back hundreds of years ago and has grown in popularity not only in Asia but also in the Western world. Traditionally, it deals with harmonizing directions and proper positioning of spaces to conform to principles of auspiciousness. Basic to the practice is the influence of five cosmic elements—Wood, Earth, Fire, Metal, and Water—to every human activity and aspiration.

“Even to those who claim they don’t believe in Feng Shui, its practical applications are all over us in this modern world,” says Ms. Allen, citing the latest iPhone line from Apple Computers as an example.

She notes that the five colors of its mass-priced line reflect the five Feng Shui elements: Green (Wood), White (Metal), Red (Fire), Yellow (Earth), and Blue (Water). “Even the choice of the Pantone color of the Year follows Feng Shui directions,” she adds.

With the December 7 Feng Shui Updates event in Manila, Ms. Allen will feature various ways of applying Feng Shui principles to our daily living to attract positive energies. One of these is in the field of auspicious fashion embodied in her own brand, Frigga.

Launched in London, Tokyo, and soon in Manila this year, Frigga incorporates Feng Shui into its design to come up with comfortable, luxurious, and eye-catching pieces that cater to wearers with specific intentions.
“Every item carries a distinctive fashion DNA, making Frigga the first of its kind in its league. It combines colors and prints, which are symbolic of various Feng Shui elements that help attract auspicious energies and enhance chances for better health, wealth, career, relationships, among others. Call it fashion for a reason, or fashion with a purpose that goes beyond just looking good,” says the Feng Shui expert now turned Frigga ambassador.

Frigga is a registered European brand in London. Its team is composed of an award-winning  fabric designers from Europe’s fashion houses and a pool of experienced creative and fashion designers to ensure a dynamic flow of ideas. Every item produced in the production line conforms to Feng Shui design principles.  Ms. Allen herself completed several courses at the University Of Arts London College Of Fashion, including personal fashion styling.

Participants in the 2014 Annual Feng Shui Updates will be treated to a fashion show featuring designs for the coming New Year and a preview of Frigga’s Spring/Summer collection. The main portion of the event will, of course, be the forecasts for business and individuals, as well as suggestions to attract better opportunities in the Year of the Wood Horse. Popular TV host, Boy Abunda, will again co-host the event with Ms. Allen.

Tickets for the December convention are now available at all World of Feng Shui Philippines boutiques in Metro Manila or at F1 Hotel. Colors, Prints, and other Ways to Attract Good Fortune in 2014

The run-up to the coming Year of the Wood Horse starts with London-based international feng shui expert Marites Allen conducting her much-awaited Annual Feng Shui Updates in Metro Manila. It will be held at the Infinity Ballroom of the F1 Hotel Manila at BGC, Global City on December 7, 2013.

Co-hosted by Marites and Boy Abunda, this exclusive event is the largest gathering of its kind in the Philippines, bringing together feng shui aficionados from all over the country and neighboring Asian cities.  It includes comprehensive feng shui forecasts for the Chinese New Year, and how feng shui can benefit businesses, industries, and individual lives during the year.  The Year of the Wooden Horse will start on January 31, 2014.

The practice of feng shui, the Chinese art of placement, goes back hundreds of years and has grown in popularity throughout Asia and the West. Traditionally, it harmonizes the directions and the correct positioning of spaces to conform to the principles of auspiciousness and good fortune. Basic to the practice is the influence of the five cosmic elements—Wood, Earth, Fire, Metal, and Water—to every human activity and aspiration.

The prints in this model’s skinny jeans are combination of different symbols which attracts good health.
While the prints of this this wrap-around dress is for attracting love and successful marriage
Of course for those who want to attract wealth, here’s mystic knot printed dress.

Last but not the least is the design for the Year of the Horse, where prints like a running horse, a golden rhino and auspicious coins are combined.
According to Maritess, each item “carries a distinctive fashion DNA", making Frigga the first of its kind.
Since it serves a fashion statement and a lucky charm, “call it fashion for a reason, or fashion with a purpose that goes beyond looking good,” she said.
Frigga’s design team, which is composed by Toby Meadows, Alice Shreeve, Hannah Coniam and Rupert Shreeve, worked on each design for at least three months.
Aside from her annual fesng shui updates for year 2014, a teaser of the Frigga 2014 collection will be viewed this Dec. 7 at the F1 Hotel Manila in Bonifacio Global City.

2014 is the Year of the Wood Horse

With three months left in the Year of the Water Snake, feng shui aficionados all over the world, whether Chinese or non-Chinese, are raring to learn what experts have to say about the favorable and unfavorableforecasts for the comingChinese New Year. Unlike the Gregorian calendar, the Chinese calendar is based on lunar cycles, and the Year of the Wood Horse starts on January 31, 2014.

10 kinds of Jikkan (Heavenly Stem) are made from a combination of Yin-Yang and the Five Elements.
 Four Pillars Chart

Two popular schools of feng shui—the Four Pillars Chart and the Flying Stars Chart—come into full play in ‘reading’ how the five natural feng shui energies will affect a wide range of human activities including business, industry, government, career, and other personal pursuits. “The shifting positions of these unseen energies, namely Fire, Water, Earth, Wood and Metal, have positive or negative indications for everyone.

Flying Stars Chart
Thus, it is important for all of us to learn about these annual changes to derive the most benefits from the positive energies and to deflect the negative ones. We need to update our feng shui,” says Marites Allen, a London-based international feng shui expert. Marites is scheduled to conduct her Annual Feng Shui Updates on December 7, 2013 at F1 Hotel Manila, BGC, Taguig City.

Hosted by Marites and Boy Abunda, this annual convention is the largest feng shui event in the country. In the last two years, it has expanded its reach and has also been held in London, Scandinavia, Tokyo and the US. Paris is also added to the itinerary this year in response primarily to the growing clamor from Filipinos based in Europe.
In a recent media briefing, Marites gave an interesting preview of what the 2014 Annual Feng Shui Updates will cover. The 2014 Flying Stars Chartshows that the Northwest andSoutheast sectors have the Misfortune Star and the Argumentative Star, respectively.“The front and back directions of Malacañang Palace, the seat of the Philippine governmentare located in these sectors, and this infers some challenging prospects for the country” foresees Marites. Unknown to many, feng shui readings do not only cover individuals but also collective groups. Thus it also has indications for the economic or political developments in a specific country or government.

The December 7th event will have important forecasts—from the general outlook for different businesses and industries to specific readings for each of the twelve animal signs of the Chinese zodiac. Along with the readings, recommendations regarding feng shui solutions for the year will be given.
“Participants will then be armed with the necessary tools to make use of the opportunities to better face the challenges brought about during the Year of the Wood Horse,” says Marites.
Tickets for the December convention are now available at all World of Feng Shui Philippines boutiques in Metro Manila or at F1 Hotel. Beauty Problem Fixes

Some women are just born perfect. They have flawless skin, toned, sexy body, and silky, long, luscious hair, while some just don’t have it all. If you belong to the first group, you are blessed. You are one of those women we get so jealous of because you just look absolutely perfect anytime of the day.

But for those who belong to the second group, fret not! You are not alone. Even seemingly perfect celebrities have flaws they just know how to correct them.

Here are seven common beauty problems and how to fix them:

1.      Dry skin. As we grow older, our skin gradually grows thinner and produces less natural oil. Experts say these factors contribute to the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Dry skin is caused by changes of weather, steamy showers, moisture-robbing soaps, too much scrubbing, aging, irritants, or skin conditions.

The fix:Beauty experts recommend patients to see a doctor for a medical advice. But if you think it’s a simple drying of the skin, try drinking lots of water – all day, every day. Try to look for cleansers and other skincare products (toners, exfoliators, etc.) with moisturizing ingredients that will not dry the skin like Derma Celesty Series of Shinagawa Lasik & Aesthetics. It is developed by leading Japanese dermatologists to rejuvenate the skin. Jewelry gel, cleansing foam, and exfoliating gel contain hydrolyzed fiber. W-BTX essence makes your skin silky and ageless by reducing wrinkles instantly.

2.      Body odor. It is an unpleasant smell in our bodies caused by bacteria that live on the skin break down sweat into acids. It becomes evident when a human reaches puberty at 14-16 years of age in females and 15-17 in males. People who are obese, those who regularly eat spicy foods, as well as individuals with certain medical conditions such as diabetes, are more susceptible to having body odor.

The fix:Proper hygiene and diet, and the use of dermatologically tested beauty products can eliminate body odor. Celesty Flora’s deodorant body scrub contains Tannin of Persimmon fruit extracts that fights unpleasant body odor while making your skin soft, radiant, and delicately scented with an uplifting citrus fragrance. It’ll make you smell good and feel good!

3.      Excess weight. This is often associated with obesity and cholesterol. Too much body fats can often lead to other health issues such as breathing difficulties, arthritis, and heart disease.

The fix:  Nothing beats regular exercise and a sensible diet plan. But some women have slow metabolism that they tend to have a hard time losing weight. Fit ‘n Slim contains L-Carnitin to speed up metabolism and a delicious diet coffee which is very popular among women of all ages. You can also try Musevital supplements for those who are eager to
